MISS LUCY WILLS
Lucy Wills (Resident 1936-1937)
Lucy Wills was born in 1871, the daughter of Sir Alfred and Bertha Wills. Alfred was a Privy Councillor and a High Court Judge.

Lucy was born and grew up in London. (Lucy was the name of Alfred's first wife who had died in 1860). Between 1901 and 1905, Lucy moved with her parents to Hampshire. Bertha died in 1906. Arthur died in 1912.

By 1931, Lucy was living at Croft House, Winchester. She moved to Chilbolton Cottage in 1936.
​
Diana Mabel Johnson, who was to become the next owner of Chilbolton Cottage, knew Lucy from at least 1928. In that year they travelled to Colombo together. In 1931 they travelled to Lisbon, with Diana described as her companion and both living at Croft House.
​
Lucy died in 1937 and is buried in the family grave at St Denys Churchyard, Chilworth, near Southampton.
