RICHARD WESTLAKE

Richard and Gertude Westlake (Resident 1932-1935)

Richard Westlake was born in 1862 in Southampton. His wife, Gertrude Ashby was born in 1872 in Staines , Middlesex. They were married in 1895 in South Stoneham. They had three children.

Richard and Gertrude moved into Fairways in 1932. He was the architect of West Dene. In November of that year Richard died following an operation.

Gertrude continued to live in the house until 1935, when it was sold to Dr. H H Stiff.

Gertrude died in 1952 in Winchester.
