MISS DIANA MABEL JOHNSON M.B.E.
Diana Mabel Johnson (Resident 1937-1949)
Diana Mabel Johnson was born in 1871 in Woolwich, London to Frank and Diana Johnson.
By 1911, she was living in Southsea, Portsmouth. During World War 1 she enrolled with the Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps, served in France, and was awarded the British War and Victory medals. She was awarded an M.B.E. in the 1919 Birthday Honours for 'valuable service rendered in connection with military operations in France'. She is listed in a World War 1 memorial window to those of the parish who served in World War 1 in St Albans Church, Copnor, Portsmouth.

She moved into Chilbolton Cottage in 1937 and stayed there until 1949.

Diana died in 1966 in Sutton.
