The plans for Down Cottage were submitted in 1931 on behalf of C G Forsdick. The architect was T D Artkinson(?) (105 High St Winchester).

The plans show a dining room, drawing room, kitchen, hall porch and two W.C.'s. Upstairs there is a master bedroom and dressing room, a spare bedroom, a servant's bedroom and WC. (HRO reference W/C11/2/2681).

Down Cottage was demolished and replaced with Farley Reach in 2012.
