1949 - 1950's

Between 1939 and 1949 there were no new houses built on Chilbolton Avenue. Starting in 1949, there was a

series of Building Control Plans lodged for the land on the eastern side of Chilbolton Avenue between Chapter House and Sarum Road for eight new houses. The were referred to as 'Plots 1-8' in the Plans (north to south), and were eventually numbered 6 to 20 (south to north).

( i.e. Plot 1 became No. 20 and Plot 8 became No. 6).

The houses were (south to north):

No. 6 Sarum Corner

No.8 Cuthelstone

No. 10 Edenside/Mallows

No. 12 Danes Court/Applebeech

No. 14 Pentlands

No.16 Ridgeway

No.18 Trevena

No.20 Fairgirth.
